Kellie Riordan is a leading podcast strategist and the creative force behind Australia’s most popular podcasts including Conversations (most downloaded podcast in Australia).
Kellie’s the founder of Deadset Studios, a podcast production house that specialises in audio strategy and audio storytelling, working with media clients including the BBC, ARN, ABC, Pinna, the University of Queensland, Shine Lawyers, SeeSaw Films, and iHeartRadio. Deadset Studios has also produced a number of branded podcasts including Restitution, Doomscroll Remedy, and In Good Health
Kellie was founding managing editor of ABC Audio Studios, the podcast unit at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. She’s launched more than 45 new podcasts, all critically acclaimed. These include Journo (Webby honoree, New York Festivals award), narrative series The Eleventh (Kennedy award), No Feeling is Final (Director’s Choice, Third Coast), kids show Short & Curly (Webby Award), The Pineapple Project (Australian Podcast Award), the Walkley-award-winning Unravel True Crime, comedy series Judith Lucy Overwhelmed and Dying, and relationships show Hooked, Hitched and Hung Up (Australian Podcast Award). Kellie’s also the host of top-ranking leadership podcast Curveball.
Kellie was a 2014 fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University. She’s been on the board of 4ZZZ Radio and Q Music, and on the advisory panel to the University of Canberra’s News and Media Research Centre. She’s on the advisory group for Australian Film Television and Radio School.
