KUALA LUMPUR: Radio Jockey Sayema Rahman from Entertainment Network India Limited (ENIL), President Director of Mahaka Radio Integra (MHI) Adrian Syarkawie, and Editor in Chief of CGTN Xiao Wang shared their challenges and ways to adapt and maintain relevance in radio while keeping its traditions.

From India, Sayema expressed how radio can create a connected community while also maintaining the anonymity of the person. She stressed that radio is a medium for expression as it helps create a safe space for the audience and maintain anonymity.

From Indonesia, Syarkawi spoke about how he and his team from MHI tackle the problem of radio losing its relevance in the modern age by having an emotional connection and impact on their audience. An example would be to sell the experience rather than the product as it leaves a bigger impression on the audience. Another example would be to connect with the audience through real time activities and events.

From China, Wang encourage the use of AI tools to create and elevate radio contents. Wang showcased a video made with visuals and audio made with AI tools, showing the potential of AI l to create content. Wang also said that AI can also be used to break barriers and start creating connections with different cultures of different languages and help expand their target audience to just one language.
